Reverse Geocache Puzzle Box Help

Q1: What do I do? How do I get started?
A1: To get started enter a set of coordinates in the text box and click the red button.

Q2: I use the Google Chrome browser and it is telling me a plug-in needs my permission to run.
A2: There is a clicking sound that is played when you click the red button. The Quicktime plug-in needs permission to play the sound. if you don't want to run the plug-in click here.

Q3: After a reset I entered the last coordinates I used and the distance is not the same as it was before. What gives?
A3: After every reset the target area that the box will open moves to another set of coordinates. I know, I have been told this is evil. ;)

Q4: When I enter a set of coordinates it just says "Unable to Read Coordinates!", What does that mean?
A4: Acceptable formats are Decimal Degrees "37.000000, -120.000000", Degree Decimal Minutes "N37 30.567, W120 24.234" and even Degrees Minutes Seconds "N37 30 12.345, W120 24 10.234". If the format looks good but it still will not accept them, make sure you haven't used a number greater than 59 for the minutes or seconds. For instance "N37 67.000, W121 20.345" is not valid since 67 is greater than 59.

Q5: How about a little clue?
A5: The target coordinates are located in the area between N 37 to N 38 and W 120 to W 121. One trick is to start in the lower corner of the search area at N 37, W 120 and make adjustments North and West to close in on the target.

Q6: I can't seem to open the box within 15 attempts.
A6: There are a number of ways to get to the target. The brute force method will not work too well, unless you have the patience to try for a few hours. There is a mathmatical method to figure out the target, but it can be rather complex. For help projecting coordinates at varying distances, give our sister site GeoLifeLine.com a try. The site is still under construction but the Coordinate Tools are up and running.
